An apparent dispute between two McDonald’s restaurant employees led to an assault around noon Sunday at the Chillicothe restaurant, with the suspect allegedly stabbing one of the restaurant managers.
The restaurant was closed down and police were investigating the scene following the incident. The suspect was taken into custody, according to a statement released by the Chillicothe Police Department.
The following statement was issued by the CPD around 2 p.m.: “At approximately 12:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at Chillicothe McDonald’s. The assault was between two employees and one was injured. The suspect is now in custody. At this time, Chillicothe McDonald’s is closed while we conduct our investigation. Please avoid the area if you can.”
Authorities did not disclose what type of weapon was used in the assault; however, unofficial sources told the Constitution-Tribune that a knife was used. The statement did not indicate the extent of injuries to the one employee; however, police stated that wounds received in the stabbing were not life-threatening as of Sunday afternoon.
