The search for a woman who reportedly wandered away from a residential care facility Saturday afternoon ended early Sunday afternoon when the woman was found safe at a family member’s house in Chillicothe. The Chillicothe Police Department issued a Silver Alert Saturday evening after the woman, identified as Maureen Moffit, 67, was reported missing by staff at a care facility near Danner Park. The woman was said to have been diagnosed with dementia and bipolar. Chillicothe police and a Livingston County sheriff’s deputy spent much of Saturday night/Sunday morning searching for the woman, according to Police Detective Jon Maples. Maples said that police had checked at the family member’s residence earlier on Saturday and believed that she arrived at the house sometime during the overnight hours.
