Karen Sue Howell-Bedsaul (Cruse), 68, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on October 20th , 2017 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Karen Sue Howell-Bedsaul (Cruse), 68, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on October 20th , 2017 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Karen was born October 19th, 1949 to Cecil and Mabel Ruth Cruse. Growing up in Ludlow, MO she graduated from Southwest High School, class of 1967 before moving to the Kansas City area. On April 18th, 1970 she married Roger A. Howell and together they had three children. A proud, protective caretaker, she loved motherhood and getting to spoil her five grandchildren as well. Karen had a successful career in accounting, from which she retired earlier this year. She enjoyed cooking, hosting holiday gatherings and the annual tradition of baking Christmas cookies her family adored. A hardworking independent woman, Karen told wonderful stories with her bold sense of humor. She had done some travelling over the years, but preferred spending time with her loved ones near home. Survivors include son Brian Howell; her two daughters April Young-Fulton and Alisa Green; son-in-law Ryan Green; grandchildren Emma, Fisher, Cameron, Arbor, and Claire; brother John Cruse; sisters Janice Michael and Dixie Cruse; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roger Howell; Joseph Bedsaul (div.); 1 brother Bobbie Gene Cruse; 1 sister Shirley Walter; 2 sons-in-law Steven Young and Craig Fulton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24th from 9AM until 11AM at the Langsford Funeral Home, with memorial services immediately following.
