Festival of Lights opening nears The sights and sounds of Christmas will soon arrive and one Chillicothe Christmas tradition is about to take place. On Saturday, Nov. 18, Simpson Park will once again be transformed into a magical winter wonderland. The Festival of Lights’ opening night will begin at 5:30 p.m. The evening will include complimentary hot cider, coffee and hot chocolate provided by Sliced Bread Market, and horse-drawn carriage rides for $1 per person, sponsored by BTC Bank and Chillicothe State Bank. “We have exciting new displays for 2017 and, of course, Santa and his elves will be there,” said Janet Barnhart, Festival of Lights Committee member. “This is one of Chillicothe’s favorite Christmas traditions.”
