Chillicothe Area Arts Council’s December 10th show will be Sunday, Dec. 10, at First Christian Church, and feature St. Mark’s² Stringed Quartet. St. Mark's² is a professional, classical string quartet of extremely talented players. The Chamber group is made up of two violinists, Allison Steiner, Aleksis Zarins, Kirsten Weingartner-Weiss (viola) and Michael Murray (cello). Its members are currently instructing at or have served on the faculties of Missouri State University, Drury University and College of the Ozarks. Each are permanent chair musicians in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Their backgrounds include studies at Manhattan School of Music, University of Arizona, Depaul University and Missouri State University. Collectively, their performance experience has brought them around the world to concert stages in Europe, the Far East and South America. They have performed in Broadway shows, the stages of NYC's Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, as well as Branson theaters. They have shared the stage with such talents as Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett, Kansas, The Lawrence Welk Show, Anne Murray, Steve & Edie Gormet, Manheim Steamroller and many others. Sunday’s performance will feature one of the group’s favorite classical pieces followed with Christmas Music selections. The performance is 3 p.m. at First Christian Church, 900 Jackson Street, Chillicothe. Doors and box office open at 2 p.m., with seating beginning at 2:30 p.m. Admission prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Season ticket holders are admitted with a ticket.
