The doors to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Service Center in Chillicothe, which typically would have been opened Monday morning, were locked yesterday. Hanging on the door was a typed note on bright-colored paper, stating that the office was closed “due to the lapse in federal government funding. The office will reopen once Congress restores funding.” The USDA Service Center houses the offices of Rural Development, Farm Service Agency, NRCS and SWCD.
