The Chillicothe R-2 Board of Education has announced the hiring of Emily Schmidt as Special Services director and Transition to Life Center director, beginning with the 2018-19 school year.

The Chillicothe R-2 Board of Education has announced the hiring of Emily Schmidt as Special Services director and Transition to Life Center director, beginning with the 2018-19 school year. Schmidt holds a bachelor of science degree in Special Education from Miami University of Ohio, a Master of Educational Administration and certification in Special Education Administration from William Woods University, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration from William Woods University. She is currently the Special Services director for Mexico Public Schools. Schmidt's educational experiences include eight years as a special education teacher, three years as a district autism and behavior consultant (IDAC), two years as a process coordinator, and seven years as a special education director. Schmidt will begin her duties with Chillicothe R-2 School District on August 1, 2018. She will replace Karie Black who is retiring at the end of the current school year.
