When 51,000 people converged in Indianapolis, Ind., for the nation’s largest annual youth convention, numerous activities as well as high-quality entertainment was essential to the event’s success.
Bailey Phillips of the Tina-Avalon FFA Chapter, daughter of Rick and Brenda Phillips, was selected as one of an energetic group of young people nationwide to perform at the 2008 National FFA Convention – Oct. 20 through Oct. 25, 2008.
Bailey was chosen to sing on the Main Stage at the Conseco Field House for the “Talent Review” which aired on RFD TV, Thursday, October 23. Bailey was also selected to sing the National Anthem at Session 6 of the convention and also in the food court and the Cattleman’s Association Awards dinner. Bailey submitted an audition CD, and was chosen based on criteria evaluating quality of performance, stage presence and ability to relate to the FFA theme. This year was Bailey’s third year being chosen for this honor.
Only 60 individuals and/or groups were chosen from across the United States to perform several times at the 2008 National Convention. The talent program participants performed during the main convention, at session intermissions, in the Lucas Oil Stadium, in the food court, in Conseco Field House and as entertainment during various meal functions. .........
