Chillicothe police concluded a drug distribution investigation Tuesday that was occurring in Chillicothe by arresting a 36-year-old white female and a 42-year-old white male.
On Sunday, Livingston County Sheriff’s Department deputies worked on a traffic safety enforcement grant overtime project in Livingston County.
Numerous motorists on Highway 36 were stopped for a variety of violations. The department staff issued 14 speeding citations with the slowest speed being 80 in a 65 mph zone and the fastest being 93 mph in a 65 mph zone. The average speed was 21 miles per hour over the speed limit.
Chillicothe police officers investigated a leaving the scene accident that occurred when a vehicle left the roadway and stuck a fence on Mitchell Avenue near Business 36 Highway.

Christopher Durnil was sentenced in Livingston County Circuit Court this week after being found guilty July 30, 2008, for the crimes of burglary 1st degree, assault 1st degree and armed criminal action.
This stems from an incident in Chillicothe where Durnil had been charged with unlawfully entering a residence for the purpose of committing the crime of assault and used a ball bat and struck the victim on the head, causing serious physical injury to the victim, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department. The bat was used with such force on striking the victim that the ball bat broke.
The body of a man found in a construction company’s utility shed southeast of Chillicothe has been identified and the cause of death was determined to be from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation began June 2, when the body was discovered in a shed owned by Bentley Construction at the end of county road 249, a short distance south of U.S. Highway 36. The shed was primarily used for storage.
