Six arrested in fuel theft operation amounting to $42,000

Five Chillicothe men and one Gallatin man have been arrested for the alleged theft of approximately $42,000 worth of gasoline and diesel fuel from a local business.

According to Chillicothe police, the following people were arrested in connection with the investigation: Dustin Rinehart, 24, Chillicothe; Bradley James Leatherman, 25, Gallatin; James Dean Silkwood, 25, Chillicothe; Michael Leroy Silkwood, 31, Chillicothe; Robert Kendrick, 30, Chillicothe;  and Phillip Galvin, 41, Chillicothe.

According to police, the suspects allegedly used a stolen fuel credit card to get fuel for themselves and others. The fuel was allegedly used for personal use and authorities say a large amount of it was allegedly sold at a discounted rate to the suspects’ friends and family members.

There are still persons being sought for questioning and possible additional charges, authorities say. No information was provided as to when the alleged crimes occurred.
