JAMESPORT, Mo. — A Jamesport man, Carlos Sarmiento, 55, is awaiting arraignment on charges of first-degree murder and unlaw use of a weapon.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are investigating an alleged murder of Lance Davis, 49, that took place in Jamesport.
According to Daviess County Sheriff, Ben Becerra, officers were dispatched at 1:36 a.m. Tuesday to 101 North Allen Street in Jamesport regarding a subject that was said to be unconscious. When officers arrived, they found a deceased white male lying in the floor of the residence. Sarmiento was taken into custody and faces charges of first-degree murder and unlaw use of a weapon. He is to be arraigned at the Daviess County Courthouse tomorrow (Thursday), Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. His bond has been set at $750,000 cash.
Assisting in the investigation are the Missouri Highway Patrol-DDCC Unit and the Cameron Police Department, Detective Division. The investigation is ongoing.
