In law enforcement there is a daily opportunity to see how important good citizenship and leadership is for the community.  With strong commitment to the citizens and county, law enforcement wishs to draw attention to youth who demonstrate outstanding citizenship.  Their goal is to reward positive behavior and encourage others to make better life decisions.

The first award was presented by the Livingston County Sheriff's office in 2008 to Mr. Cruz Chavez.  The Sheriff's enjoyed this so much that in 2009 they were able to increase their donations and recognized two outstanding young citizens and presented each with a $1,000 U.S. “EE Series” Savings Bond.  The 2009 Awards were presented to Ms. Maggie Assel and Ms. Laura McNally.

For 2010 they have been able to continue with this cause and also received a contribution from the District #2 Probation/Parole Office.  Their goal is to again honor two high school age students with each receiving a $1,000 United States “EE Series” Savings Bond for the 2010 “Student/Citizen of the Year Awards”.

Nominations must be submitted to Sheriff Steve Cox, 901 Webster Street, Chillicothe, MO 64601, no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 09, 2010.  The award(s) will be presented in June 2010.

Presented and Donated by  Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox, Beth Cox, All employees of the Livingston County Sheriffs Office, Securus Technologies and Probation/Parole Officers of District #2
