A Chillicothe man has been sentenced to 65 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple drug charges.

Livingston County Circuit Judge R. Brent Elliott found Marty J. Thorne, 38, guilty on three alleged counts of distribution of controlled substances Monday.

Specifically, Thorne was charged with two counts of cocaine distribution and another count of the distribution of methamphetamine.

Former undercover Livingston County Deputy J. Frazier, Sheriff Steve Cox and a Missouri State Highway Patrol crime lab technician provided testimony in the case, which was prosecuted by Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Michael P. Koenig. Koenig was assisted by Tim Anderson of the Missouri Attorney General’s office.

Elliott found Thorne guilty on all three counts and subsequently sentenced Thorne to 15 years in prison on count 1 and 25 years in prison on both counts 2 and 3 for a total of 65 years. All convictions/sentences are to run consecutive to each count and again consecutive to the current prison sentence being served by Thorne on a different criminal conviction.

This case was investigated by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department early in 2008 and Thorne’s arrest was included in the large roundup in February 2008.
