The Grand River Harmony Chorus, under the artistic direction of Kenny Crawford, is one of 16 Sweet Adelines International choruses that will participate in regional competition on April 4, at the Overland Park Convention Center in Kansas City, Kan. The competition sessions are open to the public and individual event tickets are $20 each.

Dress rehearsal will be held Monday night, March 30, at 7 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church sanctuary. The public is encouraged to stop by for this 15 minute performance.

The competing choruses represent Region 7 in the Midwest Plains area, which includes portions of Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Kansas. Choruses are judged in the categories of music, sound, expression and showmanship. The chorus with the highest overall score will place first in the region. As regional champions, that chorus will advance to internation competition, which will take place during Oct. 19-23, 2010, In Seattle, Wash.; and will compete against more than 30 of the top regional winners of Sweet Adelines International choruses from around the world.

The Grand River Harmony Chorus members range in age from 15 to 70 who all share a love for music and singing four-part barbershop harmony.
