Livingston County Prosecutor Michael P. Koenig filed a petition Friday afternoon asking the court to issue a temporary restraining order prohibiting the operation of an adult cabaret which opened Thursday just north of the Chillicothe city limits.
A hearing was scheduled for this Thursday, March 18; however, Circuit Court Clerk Brenda Wright confirmed to the C-T that the prosecutor filed paperwork today (Monday) to dismiss the petition. Koenig could not be reached for comment as to the reason he filed the dismissal.
The petition claimed that The Dream Palace, LLC, failed to comply with the county’s ordinance regulating nudity in adult cabarets. The petition was for injunctive relief to abate a public nuisance.
The filing came the day after two women were arrested on charges of prostitution. The two women were identified in the petition as being employees of The Dream Palace, 10041 U.S. Highway 65 North and was to be served on Peggy Daniel, the registered agent of The Dream Palace, LLC.
The petition stated that the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department had two undercover deputies attend the opening of the Dream Palace and based on their observations the two women were arrested for prostitution.
