American Legion Post No. 25 and VFW Post 858 are hosting a special recognition ceremony for nearly 240 Korean War veterans tomorrow (Wednesday), on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center at 11 a.m. at the traditional eleventh month, eleventh day, eleventh hour.

Gov. Jay Nixon will honor Chillicothe Korean War era veterans. Local organizers of the American Legion and VFW have been preparing for the event over the past year and are expecting an overflow crowd.

Because of the expected large crowd, recipients are asked to arrive and check-in at one of three registration tables at 10 a.m. for instructions and seating assignments.  Only recipients will have reserved seating. Family members who come to observe will have to sit in another area of the auditorium, so they, too, are advised to come early.
