The Food, Fun & Fitness Festival held Tuesday evening at Jenkins Expo Center attracted 100 families and approximately 250 people. The educational festival, sponsored by the Livingston County Health Center, Parents as Teachers and Diapers & Diplomas, was planned by the Livingston County Obesity Prevention Project, which works to empower parents to teach their children to make healthy lifestyle choices in the areas of nutrition and physical activity. Kids enjoyed many activities.

More than 100 families with preschool-aged children turned out for the first ever, “Food, Fun & Fitness Festival” event Tuesday night at the Jenkins Expo Center.

The educational expo, sponsored by Livingston County Health Center, Parents as Teachers (PAT) and Diapers & Diplomas was planned by the Livingston County Obesity Prevention Project, which aims to empower parents to teach their children to make healthy lifestyle choices in the areas of nutrition and physical activity.

Event organizers say the group used the annual Parents as Teachers springtime event and built on it, adding booths from area businesses and organizations each focusing on good nutrition and physical activity...........
