Roy Jared “Jerry” Meek, 66, of Granite City, Ill., died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1941, the son of John F. Meek and Grace Elizabeth Venneman Meek in Jefferson City, Mo.

Ruby May Lagore, 97, a resident of Carrollton, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 at Carrollton Life Care Center in Carrollton, Mo.

Ruby May Lagore was born Jan. 27, 1911 in Bosworth, Mo., the daughter of King Anderson and Mary M. (Perry) Lightfoot. She married James Hensley on April 9, 1928. She later married Clyde Lagore on June, 20, 1931 in Carrollton, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1994.

Joyce Aileen Keithley, 62, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Mo.

Joyce was born Feb. 18, 1946 in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Vaughn Eaverett Rhoades and Edith Aileen Tolle Rhoades. She married Larry Leon Keithley in Avalon, Mo., on Aug. 20, 1994. He survives of the home.

Pauline Naomi (Potter) Finley, 94, of Trenton, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 at Wright Memorial Hospital, Trenton, Mo.

Pauline was born March 13, 1914 in Bosworth, Mo., the daughter of Carl Allen Potter and Lydia “Ella” Swiggert Potter. She married Earl R. Finley on June 12, 1934 in Carrollton, Mo. He preceded her in death.

Mary Elleene Ritzinger, 91, a resident of Carrollton, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 at Carroll House.

Mary was born April 30, 1917 in Bedford, Mo., the daughter of James Carl and Della (Lehew) Mitchell. On July 16, 1937 she married Francis E. Ritzinger in Carrollton, Mo.  He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2005.

John Harold Trout, 80, of Breckenridge, Mo., died at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Mo., on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008. Burial will be held on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Breckenridge, Mo. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Mo.

Anna C. Rains, 95, of Gibson City, formerly of Springfield, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Gibson City, Mo.

Anna was born July 1, 1913 in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Henry Bernard and Gertrude Ludwig Venneman.

Kathryn P. “Pat” Minnis, 88, of Atchison, Kan., died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at her residence.

Pat was born Nov. 19, 1919 in Ludlow, Mo., the daughter of William J. and Catherine Anderson McGinnis.  She married Dee Alexander Minnis, Jr., on Dec. 2, 1939 in Chillicothe, Mo. He preceded her in death Nov. 10, 1975.

Evelyn Phillips, 55, a resident of Savannah, Mo., formerly of Chillicothe, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Mo.

Evelyn was born Aug. 26, 1953 in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Nelson and Vera (Banks) Phillips.

Mary Icle Bates, 96, of Chesterfield, Mo., died on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 at Del Mar Gardens on the Green, Chesterfield, Mo.
She was born on March 9, 1912 in Lucerne, Mo., to George and Stella Putnam Williams. She married Kenneth Dale Bates who preceded her in death on March 24, 1985.
They owned Bates Radio & TV in Chillicothe, Mo.

Edna E. “Betty” Doss, 77, of Laclede, Mo., died at her home on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1931 in Marceline, Mo., the daughter of Richard and Edna Trone Lynn. She married Henry Doss, Jr., on May 13, 1950. She was employed as a grocery clerk in Hamilton for several years, and worked at Brown Shoe Factory in Hamilton, Mo., and Brookfield, Mo. She was a member of the Laclede Bruner Club and the Class of 1949 coffee club. She was an avid supporter of youth sports and also enjoyed quilting for the family.

James Elmore Duckworth, 78, of Chillicothe, Mo., died at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo., on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008.
He was born on July 19, 1930, in Browning, Mo., the son of A. Byron and Lillian Mae Kirby Duckworth. He was a 1948 graduate of Humphreys High School. Mr. Duckworth served in the United States Navy from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. He earned a National defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal and Navy Good Conduct Medal. On July 2, 1951, he married Lois Jean Ishmael in Laredo, Mo. She survives of the home.

Alta M. Johnson, 99, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and a former resident of Avalon and Meadville, Mo., died at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center, Excelsior Springs, Mo., on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008.
She was born on Feb. 24, 1909, in Grundy County, Mo., the daughter of William Joel and Tena Bartholome Triplett. On Oct. 13, 1928, she married Edward Dust. He preceded her in death. On Nov. 11, 1971, she married Floyd Johnson. He preceded her in death.

Hayden Brett Voss, infant, died on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Mo.
He was born on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, the son of Matt and Amy Romeiser Voss at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Mo.

Priscilla Dee Singer Watt, 73, of Hale, Mo., died at her residence on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008.
She was born on May 19, 1935, in Colby, Kan., the daughter of Herschel Emery and Lena Bessie Christensen Singer. She was a 1953 graduate of Hale High School. She earned her LPN degree in 1965. On Dec. 4, 1954, she married Lyman Watt. He survives of the home.
