William (Will) Thomas passed on January 3, 2017 at Liberty Hospital due to complications from a stroke. He was born in Fort Lee, Virginia on March 24, 1957.

William (Will) Thomas passed on January 3, 2017 at Liberty Hospital due to complications from a stroke. He was born in Fort Lee, Virginia on March 24, 1957. He was married Julie Assel May 15, 1976 and had two children and six grandchildren. After graduating from Wheeling High School in 1976 he joined the air force. He worked as a military instructor on Chanute AFB, and went on to be a shop chief on Kwang Ju AFB in Korea. He also worked with the B1B bombers on McConnell AFB. After leaving the military in 1988 he began a career in playground installation. He worked with Robert Desell, then spent 13 years with Fry and Associates. For three years he owned T&S, before retiring on disability. After retirement Will dedicated his life to Scout Troop 223, with a focus on fundraising efforts and making sure that every boy could participate regardless of financial need. Will is preceded in death by brother Delton Wade Thomas, mother Fern Thomas, and father Wade Thomas. He is survived by his wife Julie Thomas, his children Nikki and Damon Thomas, his grandchildren Jesse Peters, Josephine Peters, Luna Peters, Asbrina Thomas, Harley Carolus, Logan Thomas, and his brother David Thomas and sister Alice Benson. Services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Charter Funeral Home at 72nd and North Oak in Gladstone. Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 am, with the funeral service at 11am. We will then be meeting at Wallace Cemetery near Chula, Missouri for a graveside service.
