May Rita Bartlett, 92, longtime resident of Mission, Kan., passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., with 11 a.m. service on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran, 5601 W 62nd St, Mission, Kan. Burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Rita was born November 21, 1925 in Wheeling, Mo., to Madeline and Vincent Kinsella. Rita grew up on a farm and graduated from Wheeling High School in 1943. She met the love of her life, Wayne Bartlett, in Chillicothe, Mo. and they were married in Boston in July of 1945. They enjoyed raising 5 children and were blessed with 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren during their 61 years of marriage. They were members at Trinity Lutheran Church and always remained active in church and community work. Rita became a lifelong caregiver at the young age of 13 after the passing of her mother. She loved music, swing dancing, singing, and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, John Kinsella; sister, Alice Atwell. Survivors include her sons, Thomas Bartlett (Joyce), Mike Bartlett (Linda), Jim Bartlett (Susan), daughters, Linda Lentell (Tom), and Diana Lynn (John). The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Society in Olathe, Kan., for their loving care and compassion during her stay.
