Shirley Jean Drummond, 89, of Columbia, Mo., passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at The Bluffs Nursing Home in Columbia, Mo.

Shirley Jean Drummond, 89, of Columbia, Mo., passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at The Bluffs Nursing Home in Columbia, Mo. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Memorial Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor David Frerichs officiating.  Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Shirley was born on May 11, 1929 near Laddonia, MO the daughter of Homer and Blanche (Smith) Stevens who preceded her in death.  She graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1947. She was the salutatorian of her graduating class. On March 28, 1948 in Chillicothe, MO she married William “Bill” Kenneth Drummond.  Shirley was a bookkeeper for several years as well as helping Bill with the Drummond Mechanical business. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. Family was the center of her life. Shirley had many interests. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends. She was an avid golfer and frequently golfed with the “YaYa’s,” Dee, Ginny and Martha. She belonged to the “Money Maids,” an investment club. Survivors include: her husband of 70 years, Bill Drummond; three children, Dana Meyer of Columbia, MO, Linda Smith of Chesterfield, MO and William “Steve” Drummond of Columbia, MO; three grandchildren, Jason Meyer, Justin Meyer (Angela) and Sean Smith (Lizzy) and four great-grandchildren, Jackson Meyer, Layla Meyer, Eliza Meyer and Violet Meyer.  She was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Stevens.
