Ruth M. Lane, 94, of Marceline, Mo., died at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, Mo., on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1915, the daughter of Charles Wesley and Virginia Hatch Smith. She served in the United States Navy during World War II. On Oct. 14, 1944 she married William D. Lane in Charlotte, NC. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, James Lane of Keytesville, Mo.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Louise, Muriel, Gertrude and Vivian; and one brother, Wesley.
There is no scheduled service at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
