Edna Kennedy, 90, of Eagle Lake, Texas, and formerly of Meadville, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at Rice Medical Center in Eagle Lake.
Edna Mae, daughter of Ray and Ollie Mae Miller Brown was born Sep. 26, 1919 in Milan, Mo.  On July 5, 1951 she married Raymond W. Caselman, who preceded her in death on March 16, 1975.  In 1992, she married Virgil K. Kennedy, who preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1999.
Mrs. Kennedy was owner and operator of Caselman’s Cafe in Meadville for several years.  She attended the First Baptist Church in Meadville.
Survivors include one daughter, Lena Johnson and husband James of Eagle Lake; one step-son, Raymond Caselman and wife Hollie of Meadville; one step-daughter, Elizabeth Kersten of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Chad Kersten of Boone, Iowa, Jessie Kersten of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Lana Hoopingernar and husband Robert of Temple, Texas, Lonny Harris and wife Sarah of Splindora, Texas, Deah Renee Aldy and husband Kevin of Maurice, La., Jamie Hutchison and wife Andrea of Sylvania, Ala., and Danelle Hutchison of Eagle Lake, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren, Kristie Hoopingernar of Temple, Erin, Chase, Ashley, Colby, Destiny and Cheyenne Harris of Splindora, Brett, Kyle, Justin and Kevin Aldy of Maurice, and Padro and Cheyenne Cortez and Landon and Rebecca Hutchison of Eagle Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Gabby Hoopingernar; four brothers, Joe, Buck, Leo and Ray Brown; and two sisters, Irene Brown and Faye Scrivens.
A funeral service will be Friday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Meadville, with Rev. Will Douglas and Rev. Rex Leppin officiating.  Burial will be in Wheeling Cemetery in Wheeling, Mo.  Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Meadville, and the family will receive friends from 6-8 in the evening.  Memorials to the First Baptist Church in Meadville may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, PO Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield.
