Rosie Lucille Marrs, 88, of Chillicothe, Mo., died on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at Morningside Center, Chillicothe.
Lucille Marrs was born May 26, 1921 in Lindley, Mo., to Beryl and Faye Boyer Reeder. She graduated from Galt High School in 1938. On Jan. 3, 1939, she was united in marriage to Max Vernon Marrs in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death Nov. 23, 2008. They lived most of their married lives in the Galt and Laredo communities where she owned and operated Lucille’s Cafe. She was a member of the Galt Christian Church.
Survivors include her children, Gerald Marrs and Margaret Warren of Chillicothe, Mary Bethards of Laredo and Jack Marrs of Trenton, Mo.; a brother, Richard Reeder and a sister, Luella Lape, both Phoenix, Az.; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Tommy Reeder; and a sister Kathryn Hill.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. A visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made the Galt Alumni Association. The Laredo Christian Church is having a lunch for family and friends at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, to be held at the Laredo Community Building.
Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton.
