James Francis Bannan, Jr., 83, a resident of Hale, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 at his residence.

He was born March 1, 1927 in Aullville, Mo., the son of James Francis and Mary Emory (Stevens) Bannan. On July 10, 1946 he married Beatrice Irene Figg in Chillicothe, Mo.

He was a 1945 graduate of Hale High School, Hale, Mo.

He was a farmer in the Hale area all his life. He was a member of the Hale Baptist Church and he was a former Hale School Board member.
He is survived by  his wife, Beatrice; two daughters, Sherry Printz, Warrensburg, Mo., and Jayme Caughron and husband Lee, Hale, Mo.; one brother, Dale Bannan, Chillicothe, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jeremy Gilpin and wife Ellie, Warrensburg, Mo., Jessica Bradfield and husband Derek, Warrensburg, Mo., and Jacob Caughron, Hale, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Kelli, Haden and Kennisen Gilpin and Camden Bradfield, all of Warrensburg, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, James Francis Bannan, Ill.

Services will be at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Mo., on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Mo. Friends may call from 12 to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Hale, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Help Service Cancer Fund and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601. Online condolences may be left at www.lindleyfuneralhome.com.
