Lois Marie Madsen, 90, of Gladstone, Mo., died at Indian Hills — Stonebridge, Chillicothe, Mo., on Monday, Aug. 16, 2010.
She was born the daughter of Orlo and Kate Benton Stewart on Sept. 19, 1919, in Guthrie County, Iowa. She was married to Carl Madsen who preceded her in death. She was a longtime member of the Rebekah Lodge.
A special thanks to Lori Madsen and to the staff at Indian Hills and the Hedrick Hospice, both of Chillicothe, Mo. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by one son, Gary C. Madsen and wife Janet of Gladstone, Mo.; daughter-in-law Marilyn Madsen, of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several special nieces and nephews; and two dear friends Mary Jean McCombs and Barbara Markley-McClung. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Russell L. Madsen, and her sister, Wilma Armstrong.
Services will be held at Hillside Christian Church, 900 Northeast Vivion Road, Kansas City, Mo., on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. There will be a family visitation at the Hillside Christian Church in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday, Aug. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. On Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 friends may call the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Burial will be in the White Chapel Cemetery in Gladstone. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and/or to the American Heart Association and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601. Online condolences may be left at www.lindleyfuneralhome.com.
