Clyde Albert Lamp, 83, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010.
He was born Feb. 3, 1927 in Chillicothe, Mo., the son of Charles Henry and Arta Viola (Cantrell) Lamp. On June 15, 1947 he married Ruby Boude in Trenton, Mo. She survives of the home.
He served in the United States Navy from 1945 through 1946 and the Navy Reserves until 1951.
Clyde worked in the 1950s for Wabash Railroad, from 1952 to 1971 at the Lamp Grocery Store, State Training School for Girls from 1965 to 1989, and Molly Bee Flowers from 1976 until 1991.
He was a member of St. Columban’s Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Mo. He enjoyed working on the farm and raising cattle, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Souders and husband Jim, Chillicothe, Mo., Lois Corbett and husband Dennis, Trenton, Mo., and Molly Yardley, Chillicothe, Mo.; one brother, Art Lamp, Chillicothe, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Charles, Floyd, Earl, Roy and Walter; and four sisters, Edna Burton, Ethel Kelley, Lena Ralls and Letha Schmidt.
Services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at 2 p.m. There will be a family visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010 at the funeral home. Friends may call on Friday from 12 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Mo.
