Nicholas M. Brinkley, 31, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Dec. 31, 1978 in Chillicothe, Mo., the son of Dwight Harold and Martha (Johnson) Brinkley.
He was a 1997 graduate of Chillicothe High School, Chillicothe, Mo. He received an associates degree in business from Moberly Community College, Moberly, Mo., and attended Columbia College, Columbia, Mo.
Nick was a huge sports fan, especially football, golf and basketball.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Brinkley, Chillicothe, Mo.; one brother, Jake Brinkley, Kansas City, Mo.; four uncles, Robert Johnson and wife Debbie, Kearney, Mo., David Johnson and wife Jean, Trenton, Mo., Mike Brinkley, Buffalo, Mo., and Jerry Brinkley, Linneus, Mo.; one aunt, Camille Gravett and husband Steve, Kansas City, Mo.; five cousins, Sarah, Seth, Chrystal, Mary Beth and David; and a longtime friend, Vanessa Grant.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Harold Brinkley; maternal grandparents, William D. (Bud) and Mary Johnson; and paternal grandparents, Jack and Nylene Brinkley.
Services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., at 1:30 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call on Saturday from 12 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Linneus, Mo.
