Bette Eckert Dorrel, 82, recently of Newberry, Fla., died Thursday, March 4, 2010.
She was born in Livingston County, Mo., Aug. 20, 1927.
She retired in 1981 as Fiscal Administrative Assistant at the University of Missouri. She moved to Port Charlotte in 1987. She was active in school and church throughout her life and was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi International Society.
She is survived by her husband, Charles M. Dorrel, Jr.; son, Charles M. Dorrel III; daughter-in-law, Cindy Baker Dorrel; grandson, Ethan Charles David Dorrel; sister, Nellie Reeter, Chillicothe, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
