Linda Louise Shannon, 62, of Belton, Mo., died Friday, June 13, 2008.

Linda was born in Laredo, Mo., in 1946 and attended school in Laredo and Chillicothe, Mo. She was a member of the Laredo Baptist Church, Laredo, Mo. She married Wayne Shannon on Sept. 3, 1971. She enjoyed dancing at the Yellow Rose in Harrisonville, Mo., and belonged to the TOPPS Club in Pleasant Hill. She also enjoyed reading, playing the guitar, mandolin and singing.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Wayne E. Shannon; a son, Edward D. Medlock and wife Rita Pilcher; a daughter, Teri S. Lange and husband Jeff; three grandsons, Jacob Pilcher, Jarod Medlock and Jared Lange; and 3 granddaughters, Samantha Miller, Desiree Miller and Jadyn Medlock; a sister, Thelma Marie Garr and husband Dick; brothers, Gene Spainhour and wife Judy, Emory Spainhour and wife Martha; a sister, Barbara Utley and husband Earl; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Delia Spainhour; sister, Edna Nevels; and two brothers, Donald Spainhour and Forest “Bumper” Spainhour.

Graveside services will be Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Braymer Cemetery, Braymer, Mo.  A celebration of life will follow at the Church of Christ in Chillicothe, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
