Wilma Curtis, 96, of Brookfield, Mo., formerly of Laclede, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 5 2010 at Pershing Memorial Hospital, Brookfield, Mo.

Anajane Wilma, daughter of Raymond Joseph and Estella (Eveland) Posch, was born Dec. 18, 1913 in Fargo, ND. On Sept. 3, 1940 she married Samuel Curtis who preceded her in death on Oct 26, 1985.

Wilma had worked at Brown Shoe Company in Brookfield, Mo.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Brookfield, Mo., where she was active in the Legion of Mary, the Altar Society, and had taught Catechisms in Pre-School. She was also an Honorary Member of the Sisters of St. Francis in Savannah.

She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Carter and husband Gary, Laclede, Mo., and Theresa Curtis, Brookfield, Mo.; two sons, Arthur Curtis and wife Nattie, Tracy, Calif., and Patrick Curtis and wife Barbara, St. Joseph, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Wilson and husband Ralph, Chilliicothe, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Joseph Curtis; a great-grandson, Carter Wynne Sego; one brother, Robert Posch; and one sister, Geneva (Sister Celine) Posch.

A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookfield, Mo., with Father Jerry Kaimann officiating. Burial will be in St. Columban’s Cemetery, Chillicothe, Mo. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield, Mo., and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A Rosary Service will be held at 6 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
