Donnie R. Wilford, 72, of rural Trenton, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Wilford was born March 17, 1937 in Galt, Mo., the son of George Raymond and Chloe Snapp Wilford.  He graduated from Trenton High School and was also a life long resident of Trenton.  He worked for the Rock Island Railroad, Santa Fe Railroad, Katy Trail Railroad and retired as conductor from the Union Pacific Railroad.  Mr. Wilford was also a postcard and railroad memorabilia collector.  He enjoyed all the alumni activities and entertaining friends and family at Lake Viking.
He was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church and Elks Lodge No. 801, both of Trenton.
On Feb. 28, 1960 he was married to Barbara A. Steele in Chillicothe, Mo.  She survives of the home.
Other survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Wilford and husband Mike McLain of Chillicothe; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ilene Southers of Trenton, Dorine Anglin of Blue Springs, Mo., and Evelyn Ragan of Macon, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Patricia Wilford.
The body will be cremated.  At Donnie’s request, a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to either the Grundy County Museum, Friends of The Thompson House or the Tenth Street Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
