Billie Louise Lucas, 80, of Yorkville passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 27, 1930 in Chillicothe, Missouri the daughter of Betty and the late Arthur Jones.

Billie loved her church. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. She loved reading, gardening and nature, but what Billie dearly loved the most was her family. She was also a great listener.

Survivors include her two sons, Steve (Adriena) Cherry of Yorkville and Marty Cherry of Big Rock; her granddaughter, Nicole (Brian) Jager of Elburn; her mother, Betty Jones of Waterloo, Iowa; her sister, Barbara Fettkether of Waterloo, Iowa as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her father, Billie was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald Cherry and her second husband, Eli Lucas.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr. Sugar Grove with Rev. Timothy Baltz officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be directed to First Baptist Church, 15 Oak Av. Aurora, IL.  60506.

Billie’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Heritage Woods of Yorkville, The Tillers, Seasons Hospice, the staff at Yorkville Dialysis Center as well as to the kind Veteran’s Assistance driver, Dave Hernandez, who drove her to her dialysis appointments.
