Garroll Veach, 86, of Tina, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 at his home.
Garroll was born Aug., 8, 1924 in Wakenda, Mo., to Parley and Clara (Kinker) Veach. On May 7, 1948 Garroll married Margaret (Kelly) Veach in Carrollton, Mo.
Garroll was a graduate of Bogard High School, Bogard, Mo. After graduation, he farmed and then enlisted in the Merchant Marines. Following that, he became a deliveryman for Sinclair Atlantic Richfield where he worked for 37 years. He enjoyed ultra light airplanes, motorcycles, farming and fishing. Garroll was the former mayor of Tina, Mo., a member of the First Christian Church and Wakenda Lodge #52 AF and AM of Carrollton, Mo.
Garroll is survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home; three children, Danuta Condron and husband Ronald Dean, Chillicothe, Mo., Gary Wayne and wife Susan, Chillicothe, Mo., Marta Ann Quinn and husband George, Chillicothe, Mo.; two brothers, P.D. ( Jim) Veach, Carrollton, Mo., Robert Veach, Independence, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Condron and wife Chrystal, Lacey Waters, Aaron Condron and wife Julie, Molly Reyburn and husband Kurt, Joshua Veach, George Quinn IV, Abigail Boies and husband Adam, Dustin Quinn, T. Sgt. Cody Quinn USAF and wife Kami, Amanda Quinn; 11 great-grandchildren, Brooke Condron, Dalton Condron, Seth Condron, Ean Condron, Taytum Condron, Cody Hill, Autumn Hill, Allison Quinn, Matney Waters, Mylee Waters and Ellie Condron.
Garroll was preceded in death by one grandson, Josh Quinn and one daughter-in- law, Debbie Veach.
Visitation was held just prior to the services on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 from 1:30 until 2:45 at which time Masonic services were conducted. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Mo., with military services provided by the Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Carrollton, Mo.
The family suggest contributions be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital or the American Diabetes Association in memory of Garroll. They may be left at or mailed to Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 N. 65 Hwy., Carrollton, MO 64633.
