Stanley Hubert Hudnut, 58, of Bucklin, Mo., died Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at his home.

He was born Aug. 6, 1951, at Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Calvin Hubert and Iola Gynell Bishoff Hudnut. On June 27, 1970, he married Katherine Sue Hayden. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2009.

Stanley was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by a special friend, Lisa Ferguson, Keytesville, Mo.; his mother, Iola Gynell Hudnut, Lewistown, Mo.; two children, Jason Hubert Hudnut, Bucklin, Mo., and Kara Sue Shelley, Raytown, Mo.; three sisters, Linda Barton, LaBelle, Mo., Kathy Boone, Lewistown, Mo., Denise Davis, Revere, Mo.; two brothers, Steve Hudnut, Ewing, Mo., Paul Hudnut, Lewistown, Mo.; four grandchildren; a mother-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother-in-law Mickey Davis and a father-in-law Robert Wilson Hayden.

Stanley was employed for 17 years with Burlington Northern Railroad from 1971 till 1987.   He was also employed with Cherokee Trucking of Columbia, Mo., from 2001 until his retirement in Oct. 2009, due to illness.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at the Coder Funeral Home in LaBelle, Mo.  The Reverend Elmer Hagood officiated the services.  Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery northwest of Williamstown, Mo.  Musical selections were provided by taped selections.
Casket bearers were his nephews, J.W. West, Chad Hayden, Stevie Hudnut, Tim Davis, Dusty Davis, and Adam Davis.

Honorary bearers were Gary Barton, Jim Boone, Levi Hudnut, Dallas Hudnut, Bob Techau and Don (Cowboy) Eastin.

Memorials in memory of Stanley Hudnut may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, or Hospice Compassus of Macon, Missouri. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, MO 63447.

Arrangements were under the direction of Coder Funeral Chapel, LaBelle, Mo.
