The Chillicothe City Council took into consideration the public use of golf carts and UTVs on Chillicothe streets at the last council meeting held Monday, July 12.
The Chillicothe Economic Development Loan Committee recently approved a $21,500 loan for Wabash Barbecue LLC. We have learned through minutes of that meeting that the loan request was approved with a 3-2 vote, with the mayor casting the deciding vote among the members of City Administrator Dean Brookshier and Attorney Adam Warren (who both voted in favor to grant the loan) and City Auditor Theresa Kelly and City Clerk Rozanne Frampton (who both voted against the loan request).

Whether it was reminiscing about the good ole days while waiting in line for a tenderloin from Jack’s Sandwich Shop, watching the youth of the community exhibit their livestock at the county fair, or just being downtown to watch old cars cruise the four-lanes, the town was full of people — both young and old — out enjoying themselves.
The city’s contracted attorney came to the city council meeting last week perhaps a little too prepared. Prior to presenting information regarding the formation of two corporations to be used in the applications of grants and loans for expanding the existing fire station and building a training facility for the police and fire departments, the legal counsel distributed minutes of the meetings that had yet to be held.
