Public input into city government

The City of Chillicothe began a new administration last week with a swearing-in ceremony which included four new city council members. Several of the newly-elected officials said during the ceremony that the citizens of Chillicothe will see changes, including what they consider a more open and approachable council. Our hope is that the elected officials are true to their word and, perhaps more importantly, that the residents of Chillicothe will take an interest in city government. The council members they elected to represent them will be making decisions on budgets, policies and departments. Now, that these officials are in place, they will be waiting for input. We would like members of the public to get involved in government and share their thoughts with their representatives so that the council truly does reflect the desires of the community.
