The Back to School Bonanza, hosted by the Livingston County Health Center, University of Missouri Extension, Grand River Area Family YMCA and Hedrick Medical Center, will be held on Wednesday, July 21 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. We encourage all Livingston County parents to drop in with their children for this obesity prevention project for youth K-5th grades. This program is a great way to start off the school year, which begins Aug. 18 for Chillicothe R-2 Schools. We also applaud those who have organized this free to the public event.
The event is designed to combat obesity by empowering parents and kids to learn to make healthy lifestyle choices in the areas of nutrition, physical activity and “screen time” or time spent in front of a compter, television or video game.
