Grable was Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association Academic All-State. Kieffer is second-team Class 2 All-State as goalkeeper for play, Baxter gets All-State honorable mention
CHILLICOTHE, Mo. — For the first time since the program’s inception in 2007, members of the Chillicothe (Mo.) Lady Hornets have received state-level honors from the Missouri High School Soccer Coaches Association (MHSSCA).
It was announced earlier this week that 2018 CHS graduate Morgan Grable (far, top right), a 4-years starter for the Lady Hornets, had earned a spot on the association’s Academic All-State list.
On Thursday, June 14, it was announced that Lady Hornets junior goalkeeper Kennedie Kieffer (above, left), who notched a dozen shutouts in the team’s 20 matches, has been named to the Class 2 All-State second team and her cousin Sydney Baxter (above, right), part of the backfield which helped achieve those 12 whitewashes, was given All-State honorable mention.
Commented CHS head coach Shannon Grable, who spearheaded advocacy for the honored player, “Love to continue to get great news for this great team! Wonderful accomplishments and deserved by all. Thank you for all you have done for our team and program.”
The 2018 soccer Lady Hornets posted a 15-5 won-lost record, both the most victories and highest winning percentage in the program’s 12-seasons history.
