SMITHVILLE — Facing “a much more-skilled, faster, and experienced team, usually a front runner for the state championship” in the Smithville Warriors, according to Chillicothe High Schooll’s soccer Hornets coach Bill Allison, the Hornets were blakned 12-0 in a game called off after one half of play Thursday afternoon.
Chillicothe (2-10, 0-4 MEC) did not get any shots on goal while Smithville scored its 12 goals in the first 28 minutes. The Hornets held the Warriors scoreless over the last 11-plus minutes.
