Catcher Jacob Rockhold of the Chillicothe American Legion baseball Cardinals is about to fire a throw to first base in an attempt to complete a third-inning double play against visiting Macon at Daryl Danner Memorial Park Friday. Rockhold had taken pitcher Blake Stephens’ throw to force out runner Dusty Baker for the inning’s second out, but his relay to first to try to retire batter Brad Muck arrived too late. Macon won the game 10-4.

Chillicothe, Mo. -

Visiting Macon snapped a 1-1 deadlock with three third-inning runs and went on to a 10-4 victory over the Chillicothe Cardinals Friday in non-district American Legion baseball.
The defeat in the first of what was scheduled to be to two seven-inning games was the Cardinals’ fifth in a row and dropped their overall record to 2-7.  The second game of the twinbill was begun, but only one inning was completed before lightning from area thunderstorms prompted a halt in the action and, without too much delay, a cancellation of the rest of the game at Daryl Danner Memorial Park.

Macon, which had swept a previous doubleheader from Chillicothe, put three runs on the scoreboard in its third to snap a 1-1 tie.
