As anticipated before the season, the Chillicothe High School soccer Hornets rebuilding season continued to live up to its billing yesterday as the young Hornets fell to the visiting Cameron Dragons 7-2 at Daryl Danner Memorial Park.
With its inexperience and youth, Chillicothe is “finding it hard to gain momentum and push an attack at goal,” Hornets head coach Bill Allison reports.  However, he stressed, he and assistant Lance Harvey “are very proud that they have not given up in any of the games and are striving to gain experience and understanding of the game.”
Out-shot 10-3 in the game, Chillicothe did manage to score twice after having only one goal in the previous two games combined and four total in four prior games in ’09.
In the 35th minute, Jarek Schmidt brought Chillicothe within 2-1 with his first goal of the season off a sharp setup by an injured Laine Saunders, Allison reported.
