Making sure the Fast Lane Family Entertainment Center gives customers “good value for their dollars” is the bottom-line aim of the Chillicothe bowling/entertainment center’s new manager.
John Inscho was in town for some meetings yesterday prior to formally starting work full-time as the new manager of the north Chillicothe establishment June 22.
“My goal is to try to make everybody have a good time and earn their business,” Inscho stated during a brief interview with the C-T yesterday afternoon.
Inscho will come to the still-relatively-new Chillicothe center – one he effusively labeled “top-notch” and “state-of-the-art” – from Columbia. Previously, he has had extensive bowling center experience in the states of Washington and California, a news release from center owner Grand River Entertainment, states.
Even with current economic difficulties, he optimistically stated, “I think there’s great potential” for the Chillicothe business.
“Even when times are tough,” he opined, “people still need a distraction or some kind of entertainment, … try to get away for a couple of hours.”
The Fast Lane, just east of the high school near the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 (Washington Street) and Missouri Highway 190 in north Chillicothe, can serve that need, he believes.
“It’s close to home.  It’s affordable,” he characterized the center.
Inscho described his general philosophy for the business.
“We’re in the business of providing entertainment. We’re in the service business,” he remarked. “All we’re providing is an experience. It’s either a good one or bad one.”
Addressing The Fast Lane more specifically, the new manager has some short- and longer-term ideas.
One of his big, initial projects is to spark more interest and participation in the traditional fall-winter bowling leagues by providing an incentive for them to go bowling during the summer.
The vehicle will be a 10-week “Have a Ball for Fall” league beginning in mid-July.
“At the end of the league (season), every bowler in it will get a new top-performance ball with drilling (of custom-sized grip holes) included,” Inscho detailed.
