CHILLICOTHE – Livingston County residents made their voices heard Wednesday in a special election focused solely on one crucial question: the 911 Central Dispatch Sales Tax. The 911 Central Dispatch Sales Tax Question was approved by voters with a vote of 777 with a ‘yes’ vote to 155 with a ‘no.’
The proposal asked voters to decide whether the county should approve a sales tax of three-eighths of a percent to fund the creation and operation of a central dispatching system for emergency services. Officials said the measure, if passed, would strengthen response efforts and improve coordination during emergencies.
This single-issue election will play a significant role in shaping the future of emergency services in Livingston County.
