Live Wrestling in Chillicothe This Weekend Will Benefit North Daviess R-III
The ring will be shaking, the crowd will be cheering, and the drama will be huge when Sliced Bread Slam IV hits Chillicothe on Sat., Sept. 27, 2025. The live pro wrestling event, held at Chillicothe Middle School, doubles as a fundraiser for the North Daviess R-III Class of 2028.
This year, defending champ Wrex Amadeus—the longest reigning TSW Tag Team Champion, holding the belt for 358 days—is stepping into the ring to face a true heavyweight threat: Sam Stackhouse. Weighing in at over 500 pounds, Stackhouse is the self-proclaimed “King of THICCC Style,” with 16 years of experience and a résumé that includes victories over some of wrestling’s toughest names.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for students and $13 for adults. Advance tickets are available at tristateswrestling.com or by calling 816-558-0445. Tickets and concessions at the door will be cash only.
Free Pesticide Disposal Event Oct. 4 in Chillicothe
Missourians will have an opportunity to safely dispose of pesticides 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Litton Agri-Science Learning Center in Chillicothe.
Representatives will accept up to 8,000 pounds of all pesticides from noncommercial sources at no charge, including herbicides, insecticides, rodenticides, dewormers, fly tags and fertilizer containing pesticides. Rinsate will not be accepted.
You can preregister for drop off at pesticidecollectionregistration@dnr.mo.gov. For questions, visit the Missouri Pesticide Collection Program webpage or call 573-526-3910.
Polly suggests wearing nitrile or chemical-resistant gloves when transporting pesticides. Avoid smoking and bringing children and pets with you.
Keep waste pesticides in their original containers, and don’t mix pesticides with other materials, says Polly. Label materials that are not in the original containers, and make sure lids are tightly sealed. If the container leaks, put it in a larger container with a nonflammable absorbent such as clay-based cat box filler.
Also, safely secure pesticides upright in the back of the vehicle or in the trunk.

GAP Home Seeking Volunteers
Grace and Purpose Home is reaching out to community members with a special request for skilled volunteers to help sustain its ministry and support women in recovery. The GAP House is seeking individuals willing to teach a craft, skill, or trade that can be developed into a micro-enterprise to raise funds during events.
Organizers say that skills such as baking, candle-making, sewing, jewelry design, woodworking, or other unique talents could be transformed into meaningful projects that benefit the women served by the recovery home. By sharing their expertise, volunteers will help create products that are both beautiful and purposeful.
Those who feel led to share their skills are encouraged to contact the GAP House at 660-214-0102. Staff believe that by working together, creativity can be turned into hope for those on the path to recovery.
