Hornets’ Bid for Share of MEC Title Spoiled by Spoofhounds Maryville edges CHS boys 59-58 in final 10 seconds Thursday

Trout’s shot perfectly kissed off the glass and through for a basket, which, because the defender at right was ruled to have fouled him as he attempted the shot, became a three-points play that left CHS in front of the Midland Empire Conference game 30-22 at halftime. However, Maryville battled back to tie the score after three periods and, after a back-and-forth final stanza, took a 59-58 victory when it scored a go-ahead basket with 10 seconds left.
