Jesse Miller, Chillicothe High School 2016 graduate and 2015 and ’16 Class 3 state champion in the high jump and also a state medalist for the Hornets in the triple and long jumps before going on to an outstanding college career at the University of Central Missouri, last week was named NCAA Division II national “Assistant Coach of the Year” for field events by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association after three athletes he oversees in his first year as an assistant coach at Pittsburg (Kan.)
