1977-2023

Michael Leroy Silkwood was born on June 2, 1977 and passed away May 13th, 2023. Michael was the youngest of three children born to James Silkwood and Delray Diane. Michael grew up with a love of the outdoors and learned to hunt from his father Jamie and grandfather Lloyd Silkwood.

His stepfather Sam Wimberly taught him the joys of camping and fishing.

Michael was exposed to racing from a young age by his uncle Dean and developed a passion for the sport becoming a driver himself. Mike was a creative dancer and an enthusiastically loud singer regardless of if he actually knew the words to the song. He had a mischievous twinkle in his eye when he was teasing his family or friends and was rarely found without his trusty ball cap on his head. Michael was proceeded in death by his father James Silkwood. Michael is survived by his four children Brittanie Silkwood, Michael Silkwood, Alex Silkwood and Kaitlin Silkwood. His grandmother Elizabeth Silkwood, his mother Delray Wimberly and step-father Sam Wimberly, sisters Georgia Hines (Shane) Diana Thompson (Leon) half brothers James (Bubba) Silkwood and James Keller. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was greatly loved by many family and friends and will be missed.
