Way Foundation Dinner to be Held Jan. 18

The Coach Lauren Way Foundation, dedicated to supporting students in academic and athletic pursuits, has announced its ongoing efforts to make a difference in the lives of young people. In 2024, the foundation awarded over $20,000 in scholarships and financial aid to students, clubs, and organizations in Northwest Missouri and the greater Kansas City area.

The foundation, named in honor of Coach Lauren Way, aims to continue her legacy of helping students achieve their goals. With 2025 here, the organization is seeking support from the community to sustain and expand its mission. Contributions, no matter the size, help provide scholarships and create opportunities for the next generation.

In addition to direct donations, the foundation is hosting a fundraising event on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Chillicothe Elks Lodge. The evening will feature Mouse Races, a silent auction, a live auction, and a 50/50 raffle. Doors open at 4 p.m., dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the races will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person, with all proceeds benefiting the Coach Lauren Way Scholarship Fund.

Community members can also contribute directly through Venmo (@CoachLauren-Way) or by contacting the foundation at 660-646-8981. The foundation is grateful for the continued support that helps bring Coach Way’s passion for education and community to life.
