Shannon Michael Lafolette, 44, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at the home of his father in Kansas City, Mo.

Shannon was born Oct. 26, 1968 in Princeton, Mo., the son of Donald Ray Lafolette and Marilyn Kay Ross Lafolette.

He was a graduate of Southwest High School in Ludlow, Mo.

He worked as a laborer for construction companies in Iowa and Missouri.

Shannon was a member of Immanual Lutheran Church in Trenton, Mo.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking and spending time with friends and family.

Shannon is survived by his mother, Marilyn Marshall, Chillicothe, Mo.; father, Donald Lafolette, Kansas City, Mo.; two children, Audrey Matthews, Chillicothe, Mo., and Brandon Simpson, Chillicothe, Mo.; three grandchildren, Serenity Dawn Simpson, Aislynn Burch and Aven Burch; two sisters, Mari Wheeler, Chillicothe, Mo., and Lydah Cleveland, Brookfield, Mo.; two uncles, Steve Ross, Valley Center, Calif., and Michael Lafolette, Fayette, Mo.; three aunts, Connie Easton, Ky., Jean Lewis, Springfield, Mo., and Kim Lafolette, Plattsburg, Mo.; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

There has been a cremation.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. There is no scheduled visitation. A private family burial will be at Half Rock Cemetery, Half Rock, Mo.

The family requests that memorials in honor of Shannon be made to Heritage Funeral Home to help with expenses.
